COMPOST DANCE
Decomposer
The etymology of the word compost means to mix, to compose, to put together.
Composting is the action of turning organic waste into soil.
This process exists thanks to non-human decomposer (fungi, worms etc.)
It can also be done in collaboration with humans (discarding organic waste to feed the decomposer).
Feeding your compost is a rather simple and concrete way to connect with the cycle of life, death, decomposition, transformation and return to life.
Dancing with Death
It’s easy to feel isolated and powerless
Facing social injustices, ecocide and genocide.
So, join the dance,
To become one, to resist, to trans-form.
To mourn together is to fight against ignorance.
Let’s dance death in all its forms.
To sweat our griefs, to set them in motion.
All deaths are welcome.
They are anyway intertwined.
Let’s dance together, because death has never been celebrated alone.
Mycelium our Queer Ancestor
Like the mycelium,
Let’s feed on what dies
to regenerate and imagine other possibilities.
Let’s dance together in the ruins of capitalism.
When everything burns, let’s dance in the ashes.
Like the decomposer of this world,
Let’s dance where death and life meet and feed each other.
Let’s dance until we die!
To shed skin. To become compost.
To become soil where other feet can dance.
Let’s dance with our queer ancestors.
The link to ancestors is not a straight line.
It is more like a mycelial network:
Roots spread beyond the human,
And intertwine with more-than--human roots,
To connect with our plant, animal and aquatic ancestors.
